Calling All Birdwatchers (and anyone who likes birds!)
The Manada Bird Brains Team is at it again this year; taking a bird walk to see what’s out there during the June bird breeding season. We are excited to share that, this year, Manada Conservancy has been selected as one of three recipients of the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology’s Breeding Bird Blitz for Conservation, or B4C, fundraising effort to support bird-related conservation projects!
Since 2021, the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology (PSO) Breeding Bird Blitz has united people across the state, raising funds for vital bird-related conservation projects. Every dollar raised helps protect birds by preserving and improving habitat and supporting environmental education. Click here to learn more about the conservation projects benefiting from this year’s effort.
The Breeding Bird Blitz, held June 6th through 16th, also provides much-needed data to the PSO about what birds are nesting and where, population trends over time, and the number of birds that are being seen.
Manada Conservancy will be hosting a bird walk on our Clawson Preserve in South Hanover Township, Dauphin County, on June 7th at 7:30am and the birds we see will be uploaded into the special PSO eBird site. To join the walk, please email Sally Zaino (szaino@manada.org). (Directions will be sent to you when you sign up.) You can join in the bird walk, donate, or both! You don’t need to donate to join us on the walk, and you don’t need to walk if you just want to donate. Click here to donate to the Manada Bird Brains team.
Manada Conservancy is an accredited land trust dedicated to preserving the natural, historic, agricultural and scenic resources of Dauphin County through land conservation, environmental education, and community engagement. Thank you for your support!
